Elda's students are making eBooks on iPads for music! Students researched a composer, musician, and instrument and created an eBook to share with others. The iPads were purchased for Ross Local Schools through a grant and students love using them to create media and collaborate with other students! Once the students complete their book, they can record their voices and post their book to iBooks on the iPad to share with other students.

4th grade students at Elda Elementary are preparing for their spring musical! This year's show is Broadway Beat with songs to highlight the history of Broadway musicals! Students will sing, act, and dance to entertain you on Monday, March 19, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the Ross High School Performing Arts Center. Pictured here are students in Mr. Kiefer's 4th grade class as they rehearse "We Go Together" from the musical, Grease! I am so proud of the students for learning all the songs, speaking parts, and dances for the show! Many classes also created their own movements and dances to accompany their class song. Elda has a talented group of 4th graders who love to sing and perform!

Go Fish!
Our 1st graders will become fish and other creatures of the sea for their production of “Go Fish!” You are invited to join us as the children dance and sing in the ocean to try and teach the sea creatures to celebrate everyone’s differences and things that make them unique! The performance will be held on Monday, March 12, 2012 at 7:00 p.m in the Ross High School Auditorium.
Xylophone performers
Elda's students enjoy using the Orff xylophones to perform in music class. Students use these instruments to accompany songs and dances while in music class. They play patterns using a steady beat or learn repeating patterns called ostinatos to play with songs. Each child has the opportunity to perform on the xylophones. We often rotate through stations where some students are singing, some are dancing, while others are accompanying on the xylophones. The music room is always a busy place to be!
